Leaders’ televised debate shows why change is needed

April 27, 2017

VANCOUVER B.C. – Tonight’s leaders’ debate made one thing clear - British Columbia needs a change.

Andrew Weaver presented the BC Greens’ credible and realistic plan to position British Columbia as a leader in the emerging economy. This vision puts people at its core, ensuring that we are advancing the health and wellbeing of every British Columbian, not the big corporations or big unions who fund the other parties.

The BC Liberals have failed to deliver on their promises, and they are out of touch with the uncertainty and mounting challenges many British Columbians are facing. After 16 years, the best the BC NDP have to offer is to be a little better than the BC Liberals.

Leadership means finding opportunities in every challenge. Weaver held his ground in the leaders debate, showing that the BC Greens have a plan that needs to be taken seriously. His focus on solutions puts political games aside in the interests of people and offers a new credible vision for voters this election.

Weaver will be traveling across the province over the next two weeks to talk to voters directly about this vision for the emerging economy and to introduce the exceptional community leaders that are running for the BC Greens.
