Long time Rossland resident, Sam Troy, is honoured to have the opportunity to represent the B.C. Green Party as their Kootenay West candidate for MLA. Electing B.C. Green Party representatives will give all British Columbians the chance to have progressive and accountable public service voices who are willing to challenge the status quo of our traditional governing parties. B.C. Green Party MLA's will be dedicated to exerting positive pressure upon our provincial government to implement "best practices" choices which will benefit the social, economic and environmental well-being of all British Columbians into our future.

About Sam

Samantha Troy was born in Vancouver, spent her early childhood in New Zealand, and was raised thru adolescence in Kamloops. She spent the next decade living in Vancouver before moving to Rossland in 1996. Sam received an undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in 1994. She hold numerous training certificates particular to the forest resource sector and has also been a certified first aid responder for over twenty years.

In addition to working as a silviculture specialist for the past twenty five years, Sam has also been working at Rossland's Red Mountain Resort since 2006 as their Outdoor Operations and Ski Patrol Dispatcher. She is an active member of the Steelworkers Union, local 9705, where she acts as the Health and Safety Chairperson. Outside of work, some of Sam's interests include her family, being active outdoors, reading, and keeping up with current affairs, especially those concerned with environmental issues and international trade agreements.

Samantha had entered this election race as she believes that people want an option to vote B.C. Green. Sam believes that the B.C. Green platform is a smart and substantiated vision which would sustain the economic, environmental, and social needs of our region. She believes in the importance of working across party lines to achieve and maintain a civil and actively functioning Legislative Assembly that works for the betterment of all British Columbians.
