Re Obesity and sugar tax

Yes sugar is not good for you but the main driver of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and many types of cancer is the consumption of animal products. Put a tax on meat! Refer to "Meatonomics" by David Simon for the costs of meat to our health (and healthcare system) and to the planet (overgrazing, GMO livestock feeds, deforestation, antibiotic resistance, water pollution and climate change for starters). For more info on the adverse health effects of animal products see "How not to Die" by Dr Michael Greger and "Proteinaholic" by Dr. Garth Davis. For some reason, the fact that animal agriculture creates up to 51% more greenhouse gases than the entire global transportation sector is not getting the publicity it deserves. Refer to the movie (and book) "Cowspiracy" for more details. One cannot consider oneself an environmentalist or "Green" if one continues to eat meat, dairy, fish and eggs.
