Join BC Green Party candidate Adam Olsen and W̱JOȽEȽP Elder, teacher and storyteller STOȻEȽ (John Elliott) for a celebration of the bounty of W̱SÁNEĆ food and culture.

For decades, STOȻEȽ has been sharing the treasured stories and beautiful worldview of the W̱SÁNEĆ people. We invite you to experience the traditional dishes of W̱SÁNEĆ and listen to STOȻEȽ share some of his stories on the place we all call home.

For decades, STOȻEȽ has been sharing the treasured stories and beautiful worldview of the W̱SÁNEĆ people. As a teacher at the ȽAU, WELṈEW̱ School, STOȻEȽ has been at the forefront of preserving and revitalizing the SENĆOŦEN language. With the development of the "Language Nest" program at ȽAU, WELṈEW̱, SENĆOŦEN has re-emerged and W̱SÁNEĆ youth are once again immersed in learning, speaking and thinking about the world as their ancestors did. We are honoured he has agreed to be our evening's host.

Protecting your health

BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.

Creating safe spaces

The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
